Description
This is an exceptional venue to which the Institute feels privileged to return for our Autumn Seminars.
This elegant and historical building has been described as a ‘monumental neo-classical design’ and a ‘modern rendering of the late Renaissance’. The exterior, foyer and grand staircase are made of Portland stone and many of the rooms are ornately decorated with French Walnut and oak panelling, elegant carved plaster ceilings and elaborate crystal chandeliers.
The seminar presentations will be made in the Godfrey Mitchell Theatre which uses state-of-the-art technology. Refreshments and the luncheon will be enjoyed in the Smeaton Room, named after John Smeaton, the famous 18th century civil engineer.
Located in central London, just off Parliament Square in the heart of Westminster.
- By London Underground: Both Westminster (Exit 6) on the District, Circle and Jubilee lines, and St James’s Park on the District and Circle lines, are just 5 minutes walk away.
- By Rail: London’s mainline stations at Waterloo, Victoria and Charing Cross are minutes away by foot or by Underground.
