We are pleased to be returning to the Royal Armouries for the Spring Seminar in 2011.

This venue affords the opportunity to welcome more than a dozen exhibitors who come not just to purvey their wares but also to listen to the needs of professional demolition engineers.

The line up of speakers will have an international flavour with exploration of innovation and challenging projects.  In addition there will be discussion of new legislation.

Mix all this with an excellent seated buffet luncheon and opportunities to network to make an enjoyable and highly informative day.

Accommodation:

Seminars at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, over the past four years have shown us that delegates often arrive in the city on the Thursday and stay until the Saturday morning.   Although we do not specifically recommend any one of them, the following hotels have proved popular.  We give the main web address but you may find rooms cheaper through other sites.

1. The Queens Hotel (next to the station) 
2. Jury's Inn at Brewery Wharf, next door to the Cafe Guru where we will go for the curry on the Thursday evening, and walking distance from Armouries.
3. Hilton Hotel.
4. Holiday Inn Express, next to Armouries.

Car parking is available at Queens, Holiday Inn Express and Hilton but it is street parking at Jury's. Some delegates normally check in at Jury's then drive the car to Armouries and park in Holiday Inn Express/Armouries car park and leave it there until after the event. 

Social Activities

We have found that many delegates like to get together socially on the evening before and the evening after the seminar.   It has become traditional to eat at:

The Cafe Guru for a curry and beer (they do fantastic prawns) on the Thursday evening.

River Plate Restaurant on The Calls for food and more beer on the Friday evening. 

We normally gather beforehand in the bar of The Queens or Jury's Hotel.

Because the numbers who gather are getting steadily larger we have outgrown the single large table.  This year we are planning to seat guests in fours and sixes in the same area of each restaurant.   Guests will be responsible for payment for their meal and any drink they order.
